Marriage Counselling and Couples Therapy

Marriage Counselling / Couples
Therapy Can Make a Difference
With the help of a skilled psychotherapist, you have an opportunity to explore underlying patterns & emotional responses that may have undermined your relationship whether it be with a spouse, a partner, a family member or a close friend. This new understanding often frees you to relate more honestly and openly with one another. This in turn enables you to rebuild trust and rediscover passion and compassion in your relationship.

PRS Therapists/Marriage Counsellors
All our therapists have undergone a substantial psychodynamic training in individual psychotherapy, and further specialized training in marriage counseling to work effectively with you. Some of our therapists have specialized training in EFT, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, or the work of John Gottman, Ester Perel, Harville Hendrix to name a few. All these approaches allows deep-seated feelings, expectations, and patterns of behaviour to surface and be worked within a caring, safe and non-judgmental environment.
Our psychotherapists are trained to explore a myriad of problems you may be encountering including:

  • Intimacy and sexual issues;
  • Patterns where one or both of you experience being unheard, unseen, rejected, or lonely;
  • Cycles of blame and criticism;
  • Communication breakdown;
  • Backgrounds of trauma or depression in either or both of you;
  • An immediate crisis, such as an affair, loss of employment, birth of a child, a death in the family, or physical illness.

The Referral Process
Call us at 416.920.0655 or email us at [email protected] and one of our experienced interviewers will get back to you within 24 hours. Our skilled interviewer will gather the relevant information and then match you to a suitable couples therapist/marriage counselor who you can contact for a first appointment.

There is no charge for the telephone interview.
Fees
PRS will refer you to a therapist who is responsible for the therapy and the setting of fees. Fees for couples therapy range from $90 to $120 an hour. Some couples may want to work for an hour and a half; you are advised to discuss this and other therapy arrangements with your therapist.
