Some Types of Depression
- Persistent Depression
Sometimes called Major Depression or Chronic Depression. This type can persist, meaning it continues over long periods of time in your life without lifting, often worsening over time.
- Seasonal Depression
This type of depression is usually experienced when people are affected deeply by the weather and time of year.
- Postpartum Depression
Postpartum depression is depression that may start during pregnancy or at any time up to a year after the birth of a child. A parent experiencing postpartum depression may not enjoy the baby, and have thoughts about harming themselves or their baby.
Taking care of a new baby is difficult enough, and having to cope with postpartum depression can be entirely overwhelming.
