About Mung Ling Tsui
In my previous life I was an actress in Toronto and Los Angeles. I embarked on my own therapy as a young woman and became fascinated with it. Psychotherapy was truly transformative and I chose to make it my life’s work. With my film and television background, I work well with people in creative fields. Continuing studies and being a mother have taught me much about child development and parenting. Working with teens is an area of strong interest. I also work with addictions of all sorts. Arriving in Toronto at six years of age has given me a deep understanding of cultural differences and the immigrant experience. My clients come from all walks of life and have enriched my own life with their varied challenges and stories.

What happens in a therapy session
You will be in charge of your therapy in determining what you chose to talk about or work on. But our therapy will be interactive and I will give you a fair amount of feedback. We will be doing psychodynamic or psychoanalytic therapy, meaning that we will try to discover what unconscious beliefs or patterns may be keeping you from the life you seek. The psyche is like an iceberg with only a small part conscious or above water; the bulk is submerged or unconscious. The more conscious we become the greater clarity and control we have in our lives. I apply these principles to my work with individuals, couples and adolescents.
