What happens in a therapy session
In the safe and non-judgmental atmosphere of my Toronto psychotherapy practice, you are invited to talk, at your own pace, about yourself and what has brought you to my office. I listen to you with undivided attention. Together, we embark on a journey of discovery, make sense of what puzzles or troubles you, add meaning to your experiences, and help you understand your dreams, memories and emotions. Sometimes words fail to describe what’s going on inside of you. At such times, I may guide you with gentle breathing exercises, deep relaxation, or intuitive art-making to facilitate non-verbal expression and exploration.
I offer a free initial consultation to assist you in your search for a psychotherapist with whom you will feel comfortable. During this brief in-office or phone conversation, you can ask me about my professional approach and tell me what you are looking for in a therapist. Before we begin your first full session, we will spend a few minutes discussing confidentiality, scheduling, payment options and cancellation policy.
