About David Wiwcharyk

My journey into psychotherapy is rooted in a deep, personal understanding of adversity and resilience. Witnessing my mother’s struggle with mental illness due to the traumas of World War II ignited my passion for helping others navigate their psychological challenges. With diverse life experiences, including a career in business and roles as a father and grandfather, I offer a rich perspective to my practice. I specialize in addressing relationships, trauma, anxiety, and more through a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes somatic practices and narrative exploration. I am deeply committed to my clients’ emotional freedom and self-awareness, using my experience and empathy to help guide them toward healing and growth.

What happens in a therapy session

From the very start, we’re shaped by countless interactions — in the womb, through family dynamics, friendships, school experiences, work life, and even the echoes of our ancestors. This complexity makes each person’s story profoundly unique.

In our work together, we start by tuning into your current state — are you feeling disconnected, anxious, or something else entirely? Identifying the most pressing issues you’re facing allows us to set a clear direction for our therapy sessions. My role is to guide you through this exploration, helping to illuminate patterns that may be holding you back and exploring new ways of being. Through this journey, we aim to understand not just the challenges but the incredible uniqueness that you bring to your life and relationships.
