What happens in a therapy session
As a practitioner of long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, I work within the “here and now” of each therapy session; listening, holding space, and responding without judgement, to you and to whatever it is that you are bringing. As your therapist, I will accompany you as you seek to understand yourself better through our conversations: through the feelings and emotions that come up for you; through our ongoing verbal and non-verbal communication. The work can be slow. Psychotherapy is not a “quick fix”. It is an “opportunity over time”, for you to develop a process of self-reflection and curiosity which can lead to greater insight – which in turn can lead to more clarity, more choice, and lasting change.
Because I believe that the most important first step is to find a therapist who feels like a good fit, I offer an initial 45 minute consultation at a lowered rate. Based on that conversation, you and I will both decide whether or not to move forward into ongoing work. If you have any questions, or would like to book a consultation, please feel to call or email and I will get back to you within 2 business days.
Please note that I have daytime availability only.
Currently I am not accepting new clients.
